Embracing Transformation: A Year of Surrender and Self-Discovery

My surrender poem…

Waking up from someone else’s dream
her arms stretched wide,
heart opened,
and mind rewired.

She saw clearly now.
As if taking off someone else’s glasses
she’d been prescribed.

Her tired eyes witnessed a lifetime of lies
she’d willingly accept as truths.
Narratives that were meant to keep her small.
Systems that were designed to make her sick.

But no one could deny her new knowing now.

For she had pulled the wisdom from her wounds,
trusted her heart for strength,
leaned into her intuition for guidance,
and surrendered to what she’d tried to control.

Little by little she washed away all that she was “supposed to be”
and returned to all that she always knew she was meant to be, but silenced.

For she didn’t rely on their opinions anymore.

In return, abundance flowed like a roaring river
when her dam of self-hatred finally broke.

Permission to be human was granted.

And like seashells washed upon the shore,
she gently collected the evidence of her power.
Honoring each treasure with curiosity and gratitude.

It was apparent now.

Meeting herself where she was,
in awe and wonder,
she envisioned her greatest desires.

A life of ease.
A life of grace.
A life of simplicity.

And while it always felt like a longing,
just out of reach,
she knew her choices were hers alone –
to make excuses for or to make love with.

So she chose love.

And reminded herself each day that
simplicity appears when she released her fears.

And with that, she recalibrated her compass for her next adventure.

If you enjoyed my surrender poem, I’d love to know in the comments.
