41st Birthday Manifesto & Invite by MaryBeth Hyland

41 Ways to Live an Abundant Life: My 41st Birthday Manifesto

A wise woman once said, “Birthdays are your personal new year.” A natural time when you can take inventory of your life and decide how you want to move forward. So I wanted to share some wisdom on my 41st birthday.

I have a complex relationship with birthdays. Some years, I’m filled with joy and gratitude. Doing something to intentionally celebrate. While others, I’ve literally had a pity party filled with tears, judgment, and being a victim for “not being where I should be by now in life.” It was straight-up depressing.

So, as I turn 41 ?, I decided to focus on my abundance. Sure, it’s my party and I can cry if I want to. But this cowgirl is only crying tears of joy!

I’m feeling particularly abundant and grateful at my 41st birthday for:

  • ? Taking the big leap and officially making our dreams a reality, moving into the Bittertoot Mountains on my great uncle’s legacy ranch and saying bye to city life in Baltimore.
  • ? My sister-in-law traveling out west from Baltimore to celebrate together.
  • ?Feeling a sense of faith and abundance financially, spiritually, physically and mentally.
  • ?Being a badass at setting boundaries and no longer allowing my energy to be drained by making myself smaller to make others comfortable.
  • ?Dedicating my life’s work to enabling people to take their power back and live their best lives. Truly a blessing.
  • ?A partner who is a true partner and doing the damn thing with me lock-step.
  • ?The humans I get to call chosen family out west who have invited me into their lives and supported my dreams unconditionally.

In that vibe, here are 41 pieces of wisdom on my 41st birthday on how to live an abundant life that can serve you, too:

1. Prioritize your well-being by embodying your values.

2. Choose a partner who is on an intentional journey to evolve individually and together.

3. Pull the wisdom from your wounds and stitch up the rest.

4. Cherish your loved ones with your unconditional presence.

5. Minimize your possessions to only what you cherish that gives you more ease and flow.

6. Share your authentic gifts with the world and your purpose will be ignited.

7. Manage your energy, not your time.

8. Listen to your body and respond to it with love.

9. Know that the best of something often comes from doing nothing.

10. Uncover your authentic self and be that way on purpose.

11. Feed and tend to your body in ways that nourish and delight the keeper of your soul.

12. Work towards your dreams, not someone else’s – especially when it’s hard or an unpopular path.

13. Love yourself exactly where you are, not where you want to be.

14. Trust in the universe to give you the lessons you need to attract what you are.

15. Honor Mother Nature – retreat and rejuvenate in her wisdom.

16. Speak and write from your soul to help others.

17. Slow down to get ahead.

18. Step all the way into your light and don’t dim it to make others comfortable.

19. Celebrate the little and the big things on purpose.

20. Take care of your inner child – listen and tend to their needs.

21. Honor what makes you perfectly imperfect.

22. Lift yourself by lifting others.

23. Surround yourself with people who love you so much they only speak the truth, even when it hurts.

24. Never be the most evolved person in the room.

25. Push on your evolutionary edges to evolve into the next level of consciousness – especially when it’s uncomfortable.

26. Soak in the medicine of music.

27. Know how divine you are and raise the vibration around you.

28. Be present by listening more than you speak.

29. Tell people what they mean to you.

30. Sleep as much as you need, without apology or guilt.

31. Curiosity is the cure to all frustration.

32. Ask deep questions to have deep connections.

33. Look for love everywhere you go and find it.

34. Reflect and share your gratitude each day.

35. Do the things that make you come alive first.

36. Anchor in the present by connecting with your breath.

37. Give yourself and others permission to be human.

38. Make your well-being the #1 measure of your success and see how your quality of life changes.

39. Have unwavering faith that everything is working out for you.

40. You can only find true freedom with clear boundaries.

41. Meditate each day to go within for the answers.
