Discover the Top 3 Free Personality Quizzes to Better Understand Yourself and Your Team

I can’t seem to avoid conversations these days about which “personality test” to give their prospective and new employees to see if and how they’ll be a good fit for their company. There are just so many quizzes to pick from! Meyers Briggs, Predictive Index (PI) and DISC Behavioral Inventory are among the top these days. Although typically a wise investment if you have the correct staff to utilize the results appropriately – most of these assessments cost companies a pretty penny.

When I stumbled into my third conversation on this topic in one week, it struck me. People are craving easy, trustworthy tools to effectively get to know themselves and those around them better. So, I got to thinking about my all-time favorites.

The following 3 FREE Quizzes are not necessarily workplace-centric (especially not love languages) however, they are fabulous tools for you to take advantage of without having an expert interpreter in getting to know yourself and those around you better.

1. Sixteen Personalities – This is essentially the Meyers Briggs done is a very user-friendly and fun way. It’s self-described to: “Get a concrete, accurate description of who you are and why you do things the way you do, for free.” My ENFJ personality made me particularly love this one! Its visuals and the final report correlated your score to famous people with the same persona. Not only was it spot on, it was fun to take!

2. The Four Tendencies – This quiz helps you to understand yourself in the context of how you make or break habits.  As the creator, Gretchen Rubin writes: “When we try to form a new habit, we’re setting an expectation for ourselves. Therefore, to change our habits, it’s crucial to understand how we respond to expectations. We all face outer expectations (meet deadlines, observe traffic regulations) and inner expectations (stop napping, give up sugar). I’ve devised the “Four Tendencies” framework to describe how a person responds to expectation.” I’m a classic Questioner and proud of it! I listen to the Happier podcast regularly to really get to understand how to work with my Tendency and those I spend the most time with.

3. Five Love Languages – Disclaimer: probably not the best workplace quiz – but depending on your culture – maybe it’s perfect! The 5 Love Languages official assessment will help you discover the way in which you prefer to receive love and begin improving your relationships. Your love language profile will explain your primary love language, what it means, and how you can use it to connect to others. Mine is Quality Time followed by Acts of Service. This has been a huge lightbulb moment for me and my “Physical Touch” husband as well as my in-laws! We all took the test when we were at the beach together and it made for great conversation and a deeper connection to one another.

Are you willing to spend an hour to really get to know yourself better by taking one (or all three!) of these quizzes?

At the very least it makes for interesting conversation and self-reflection.
